Biography
Lina Malshy is a Palestinian film and media composer, orchestrator, and violinist whose work blends her deep roots in Arabic music with a passion for cinematic storytelling. A graduate of Berklee College of Music’s Film Scoring program, Lina has composed original scores for award-winning short films and feature documentaries.[IMDb]
Lina's professional experience spans across composition, orchestration, conducting and music preparation. Her first feature documentary "One street in Silwan"(2025) was screened at the Jerusalem film festival. She has also worked as an Orchestrator, Composer’s Assistant and Head of Music Preparation on films like Una cabeza en la pared (2024), El Año Decisivo (2023), Disforia (2025), Cut to David (2025), Beyond Doubt (2024), handling orchestration, copying, and live session logistics. Additonally, Lina worked at Fine Line Music Service, for orchestration and score production on large-scale media projects.
At Berklee, Lina served as the Screen Scoring Department Assistant, overseeing more than 80 recording sessions and orchestrating for visiting composers including Mike Post and Nainita Desai.
With Lina's experience as a music director she collaborated with ANERA foundation on a concert titled "The light of Palestine" that raised over $8,800 for humanitarian aid.
As a violinist, Lina focuses on Arabic music performance and has performed at the United Nations with the NYAO, alongside Grammy-winning artists Naseem Al Atrash and Eugene Friesen. Her playing can also be heard on Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed "Mirage" soundtrack. Currently, Lina is serving as the principal violinist and executive director of the Alwani Middle Eastern Orchestra, where she also premiers some of her original concert music.
Lina is passionate about bridging cultures through music and amplifying underrepresented people, both through her scores and her presence on stage.
